Mental Health Awareness Month
May 8, 2024
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Heather Hill would like to recognize our ViaQuest partnership and the vital role they play in our residents' lives. Our TBS specialists, traditionally known as mental health case managers, play a crucial role in our residents' well-being by focusing on daily behavioral skills and serving as advocates for those who may struggle to advocate for themselves.
They provide individual or group settings with staff trained to work with individuals experiencing mental health symptoms. By focusing on symptom management, life skills, and coping mechanisms, and with the coordination of community services, they build on skills, including social, emotional, stress management, anger management, communication, and interpersonal relationships. They provide crisis intervention and prevention as well as monitoring symptoms and progression toward goals.
Training support systems, including direct staff, on client-specific triggers and interventions outlined in mental health treatment plans, is essential for creating a collaborative environment where everyone works together to support our residents. Through effective communication and intervention strategies, we strive to create an environment where our residents can thrive and achieve their full potential.
